Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate certification

At the Windows Server Summit that was held in September 2021 Microsoft announced two new Windows Server exams.  Passing both these exams will earn you the Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate certification.

The two exams that were announced were the AZ-800 Administering Windows Server Hybrid Core Infrastructure exam and AZ-801 Configuring Windows Server Hybrid Advanced Services exam.

It is expected that both exams will go beta towards the end of 2021 and will likely be generally available in early 2022.

AZ-800 Administering Windows Server Hybrid Core Infrastructure exam

This exam focuses on Windows Server workloads using on-premises, hybrid and cloud technologies.  It's going to focus on the "core" technologies inside Windows Server, like Compute, Identity, Storage, Networking and Management tools.

You can expect to be tested on things like Windows Admin Center, PowerShell, Azure Arc and Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) virtual machine administration.

AZ-801 Configuring Windows Server Hybrid Advanced Services exam

The AZ-801 exam focuses on Security, Migration, High Availability, Disaster Recovery, Monitoring and Troubleshooting.  Again it will focus on technologies on-premises, hybrid and cloud.  

Again things like Windows Admin Center, PowerShell, Azure Arc, Azure Automation Update Management, Microsoft Defender for Identity, Azure Security Center, Azure Migrate and Azure Monitor will be among the things tested.
