Global Azure Bootcamp Glasgow 2019

The Global Azure Bootcamp event is something that runs throughout the world and has been running for 6 years now. The event hopes to bring lots of people together on the same day to share their knowledge and learn about Azure.

Back in 2017 I first discovered the Global Azure Bootcamp event and wanted to try and organise something in Glasgow, however time was against me and I missed getting an event set up. But what did materialise in 2017 was the Glasgow Azure User Group and from that we now have a thriving community.

Last year, 2018, saw me organise a Global Azure Bootcamp event, and despite some teething issues getting into the building (these things happen, right?!?) the event went really well and even though it was a super sunny and warm day in we had a really good turnout.

This year, under the Glasgow Azure User Group banner we will once again be running an event in Glasgow as part of the Global Azure Bootcamp initiative!

The event will be held on Saturday 27th April 2019 in Glasgow City center.

Although I will be helping in the background for organising the event, Gregor Suttie (b|t) will be the main organiser of the event. The reason being the event falls on the day after my wedding anniversary, and as part of my "striking the right balance" philosophy between work and family I've decided to put my family first that weekend. I love attending, organising and speaking at community events and am gutted that I will be missing the Global Azure Bootcamp event this year but this year has to be family first. I'll be involved in other community events throughout the year so will catch up with you all then.

The Call for Speakers for the event is live and accepting submissions. So if you are a new or experienced speaker we'd love to hear from you - https://sessionize.com/gab-2019-glasgow. Your session can be about anything - IT Pro, Dev, DevOps, Data, Mental Health, Certification, Career Advice.... anything. Get submitting, you have until the 31st January 2019!

For those just wishing to attend the event, tickets are available via Eventbrite and are free!
